Sometimes plumbing problems, just happen - no matter what you do to avoid them!  Don't worry, that is why we are here.  Taking these preventive steps can extend the life of your plumbing system, reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns, and save you money on future repairs.

  •  Don't pour grease or cooking oil down the drain. Let it cool and dispose of it in the trash.
  •  Only flush toilet paper. Avoid flushing wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, cotton swabs, and other non-flushable items.
  •  Avoid using chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage your pipes. Instead, use a plunger or call a professional for stubborn clogs.
  •  Fix small leaks promptly. Even minor drips can waste water and lead to larger problems over time.
  •  Insulate exposed pipes during cold weather to help prevent frozen and burst pipes.
  •  Know where your main water shut-off valve is located so you can quickly stop the water in an emergency.
